How to Get into TOP B School

As is evident that MBA from the leading B Schools ensures a good start to the corporate career of a candidate. These institutions have very rigorous curriculum which makes students well prepared to take up the challenges in the Corporate sector. But the 1st challenge for students is to get into one of the Top B Schools. Around 3 Lac students fight for around 10000 seats in leading B schools. The selection process for almost all the B schools is similar & is conducted in 2 stages.

Stage I:  Aptitude Test : CAT , XAT , SNAP , CMAT , MAT , MHT-CET are few of the leading Aptitude Tests for MBA. The students are tested in the areas of Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability , Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation & General Awareness.

Stage II: GD/PI : The Candidates have to apply for various colleges based upon their expected CAT Score or the score in other entrance exams. On the basis of the score of the candidate they get the calls from the individual institutions & they are called up for the GD ( Group Discussion) & PI ( personal Interview) rounds. Some Institution will have only Interview. But most of the institutions have both GD as well as PI.

G. PU MET:

Panjab University Management Entrance Test (PU MET) is conducted by Panjab University, and is a gateway for admission to MBA Programs at University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS). The management courses that are offered at UIAMS are as follows:
• MBA in Retail Management)
• MBA Banking and Insurance Mgt.
• MBA in IT & Telecommunications Mgt.
• MBA in Pharmaceutical Management
PU MET 2019 schedule has not been released yet. PU MET 2018 was held on March 17, 2018.
Candidates obtaining a valid score in PU MET 2019 shall further be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The weightage of the same is as follows:
• Written Test 85%
• Group Discussion 7.5%
• Personal Interview 7.5%
Admission to MBA (Infrastructural Management) shall be done only on the basis of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. No entrance test shall be conducted for the same.
